Located in the historic Perry-Payne Building, Filter — as the client describes it, is a “visual dining experience” — an embodiment of the new relationship between digital culture and the hospitality industry since the proliferation of social media platforms in the mid-2010s. Nods to Instagram’s image altering filters are articulated in AO’s interior buildout for this Warehouse District restaurant and bar. Perforated metal screens and gauzy fabric panels interact with ethereal lighting in Filter’s dining areas to create an intimate, moody atmosphere. Construction is expected to be complete this fall.
